Plasma Treatments in Wrocław – Nowa Estetyka Medical Center

Non-Surgical Upper and Lower Eyelid Lift

Are you dealing with drooping eyelids or crow’s feet around your eyes? Have you noticed that your skin has recently lost its firmness and radiance? A plasma treatment is a safe method to address all these concerns, providing results that last for many months.

The procedure works by using controlled micro-beams of plasma, which is created by ionizing the gases in the air. Plasma forms between the device’s head and the patient’s skin through a small electrical arc. The selective energy applied to the damaged tissue causes controlled sublimation, meaning the top layer of the epidermis transitions directly from a solid to a gas state.

As a result, the skin’s repair mechanisms are triggered, leading to regeneration. The outcome is an immediate improvement in skin tension and firmness. Plasma treatments are a highly effective, non-invasive method for correcting drooping eyelids (non-surgical blepharoplasty) and reducing wrinkles.

After the procedure, a grid of very small points (where sublimation occurred) can be seen on the skin, spaced about 0.5 mm apart.

One of the great advantages of the plasma generator is that it does not cause inflammation or permanent damage (necrosis) to the surrounding tissues. There is no bleeding during the procedure, and the deeper layers of the skin remain intact. Because the treatment only affects the skin’s surface, it does not leave scars.

Is the Plasma Treatment Painful?

Plasma treatments are performed under local anesthesia by applying a lidocaine cream to the skin about half an hour before the procedure, so it should not be painful. The procedure itself lasts around 20 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.

Results of the Plasma Treatment

  • Lift of drooping eyelids
  • “Opening” of the eye
  • Tightening of the treated skin
  • Reduction of wrinkles
  • Firming of the skin
  • Visual removal of excess skin from the eyelids—since there is no skin cutting, the effect of skin or fat reduction is achieved solely through skin tightening
  • Increased production of elastin and collagen proteins

The skin-tightening effect is visible immediately after the procedure. Your skin tone does not affect the treatment’s effectiveness or the longevity of the results. The smoothing and wrinkle-reducing effects of plasma treatments typically last 2-4 years (according to clinical studies).

Depending on the skin’s condition before the procedure and the severity of the issue, the specialist will recommend the best course of treatment during the initial consultation—sometimes the procedure needs to be repeated a few weeks after the first treatment.

Is Plasma Treatment Safe?

Thanks to the emission of specific electrical frequencies, the medical device does not cause any current to flow through the patient’s body. The treatment does not carry the risk of nerve damage, making it a popular method for smoothing wrinkles around the eyes and lifting the eyelids. The plasma emitted by the device is white (not blue), which indicates that no current flows into the patient’s body.

Indications for Treatment

  • Crow’s feet (wrinkles at the outer corners of the eyes)
  • Lower eyelid wrinkles
  • Drooping eyelids
  • Skin pigmentation issues, discoloration
  • Removal of xanthelasma (yellow deposits on the eyelids)
  • Scar reduction (including acne scars)
  • Stretch marks
  • Skin lesions—hemangiomas, warts, fibromas, papillomas, keratosis…

Plasma treatments can be used not only to reduce wrinkles on the face, décolleté, and neck, but also as a method for removing fine lines around the elbows and knees.

Contraindications

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Skin diseases in the treatment area (bacterial or viral)
  • Active autoimmune diseases
  • Use of medications affecting healing and blood clotting mechanisms
  • Cancer

Post-Treatment Care

A characteristic feature of plasma treatments is the appearance of small “scabs” (where sublimation occurred), which disappear 5-7 days after the procedure. Until then, they can be concealed with daily makeup. Once the scabs fall off, mild redness may appear (lasting 14 days to a month after the procedure). In such cases, it is recommended to use creams that accelerate skin regeneration and reduce redness.
