The procedure is painless. Afterward, there may be redness and slight swelling of the intimate areas, which is a natural reaction of the body to the injections. The procedure requires no special preparation from the patient, lasts about half an hour, and the patient can leave the office immediately after.

Contraindications for hyaluronic acid injections include inflammation and infections of the vulva, vagina, or skin in the intimate area, as well as genital herpes. These should be treated beforehand. The procedure is not performed on pregnant patients, those allergic to hyaluronic acid, or patients with cancer.
